The great international youth basketball is coming home. From December 27th to 29th, 2015, Stellazzurra Basketball Academy is ready to bring back the rising stars of European basketball to its Arena Altero Felici court with the Adidas Next Generation Tournament - Città di Roma 2015”, the most powerful tournament in Europe for youth teams per club, organized together with Euroleague Basketball.

The 32 teams participating in the qualifiers (amongst them are represented 13 clubs from Euroleague and 6 from Eurocup clubs, 15 countries represented) were divided into 4 stages in 4 different countries which will took place in Rome, L'Hospitalet (Spain), Kaunas (Lithuania) and Belgrade (Serbia), for the right to advance to the Final Eight in Berlin during the Euroleague Final Four week in the German Capital from May 12th to 15th, 2016.

Beside host Stellazzurra Basketball Academy, this year's participants in Rome are Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Armani Junior Milan, CSKA Moscow, Mega Leks Belgrade, Umana Reyer Venice, Unicaja Malaga and Virtus Bologna. Eight teams will compete for the “Città di Roma” trophy and the winner will take part in the Finals in Berlin, to be joined by the other stages winners, the reigning champions of Real Madrid and three wild card invitations.

The last day of “Adidas NGT - Città di Roma 2015” will be enhanced by an International Clinic for Coaches, joined by Dusko Vujosevic, former head coach of Partizan Belgrade, CSKA Moskow, Serbian National Team and Montenegrin National Team, and Veliko Perovic, coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth .

Stellazzurra Basketball Academy, coached by Germano D'Arcangeli, will be at “Città di Roma 2015” as defending champion after last year's triumph in the final game against Unicaja Malaga, a win that allowed the Italian team to gain the ticket to the Final Eight in Madrid.

The adidas Next Generation Junior Tournament does more than crown a champion from among the best 18-and-under teams on the continent", says Mr. Jordi Bertomeu, President and Ceo of Euroleague Basketball. "Over the course of five months in four countries or more every year, the Tournament stands as a symbol of the dedication that Euroleague Basketball's family of clubs have to enriching our sport by perpetuating the values that make basketball great. While the adidas Next Generation Junior Tournament is certainly a showcase of fantastic talent, it also serves as a unique vehicle for transferring values such as team spirit, commitment, respect, sacrifice, fair play and humility from one generation to the next. Our clubs teach those values every day in their youth programs to thousands of children and teenagers. Some of those youngsters will someday thrill us as professionals, but all will learn the values and enjoyment of basketball thanks to the dedication of our clubs. Euroleague Basketball is strongly committed to growing basketball across Europe – Bertomeu continues –, a commitment inspired by the passion of the many clubs, organizations and institutions that are the true motors of the sport. On behalf of Euroleague Basketball, I thank all of them profoundly, but especially now Stellazzurra Basketball Academy Rome, with whom we have been collaborating on these shared objectives for many years. Likewise, our appreciation goes out to adidas for its commitment to youth basketball, the future of our sport”.
