Pubblicato il Mercoledì 2 Marzo 2016 - EYBL / EGBL

Great satisfaction in the GPA Stellazzurra Academy's female youth to reach the fourth place in the standings by the U17's team in the third and final stage of 2015/16 EGBL regular season, the European Girls Basketball League. The last weekend in Liepaja, Latvia, the “nerostellate” coached by Alessia Cecchini (in the pic alongside) are finally able to express thier individual basketball and team performance that saw them run near the podium, thanks to 3 wins in 5 games played in Baltic soil.

It started Friday with the double success against Estonia's Audentes Tallinn 67-64 and Latvia's Daugavpils 55-52, Saturday arrived the two defeats with Finland's PHYK Helsinki 59-67 and Slovakia's BKZ Levice, winning of the stage, 37-49, before closing Sunday with a smile with the 42-40 win versus Latvia's Ridzene Riga.

The comparison with high-end women's European reality can only be a stimulus to growth and to a personal quest for constant improvement – says the general manager of Stellazzurra Academy's female, Monica Grani –. This is just the beginning also undertaken by our female sector, whose innovative and challenging pathways and individual projects, as well as high-level experiences like this, wants to put at the center of its interest the player as possible by providing tools, from the visual training to the individual work, to aspire to reach the maximum of her capacity. A hard road for the female sector to retrace the steps of the male one – continues Grani – but necessary in order to build athletes that can live experiences such as the EGBL, to which is added the human value that always give this kind of experiences. Open your mind and the boundaries of our work can only be inspiring”.

The appointment with the EGBL will return next year for the GPA Stellazzurra Academy, already assured of participation in the 2016/17 season of the international tournament.
