The Indian player Harsh Tomar has landed a full scholarship to study and play basketball on a permanent basis at Stellazzurra Academy

 ROME (Italy)Stellazzurra Basketball Academy announces that Indian Youth basketball player Harshwardhan Tomar has landed a full scholarship to study and play basketball on a permanent basis in our Club. The 2001-born Asian player landed yesterday afternoon in Rome Fiumicino Airport with an Air India flight from New Delhi.

 

After the trial period of three months it had since last end of December, Harsh has convinced the Academy's coaches in grant him the possibility of a scholarship to Marymount International School of Rome. Tomar received interest from various European clubs and chose Stellazzurra based on its reputation of developing international talent. Stellazzurra Academy and Mauro Matteo, Operations Manager for Asiatic Region, thank the Basketball Federation of India for cooperation in the operation that brought us the Indian guy.

 

The 6ft 7 inch center was part of the U16 Indian Boys National Basketball Team at the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship held in Indonesia. After returning home from Rome Tomar has also participated in the NBA Junior Camp in India.

 

In Stellazzurra Academy he is going to play the European Youth Basketball League (EYBL) with the U16 squad, which is the reigning champion after the triumph of last season in the Superfinal of Tallinn in Estonia.
